As a Wells Fargo employee let me start off by saying the employees in the actual branches are most of the time good people.
It is upper management that puts so much sales pressure on us that we have no choice sometimes but do unethical things to hit sales goals in fear of losing our job. Then if we are caught they fire us and act like they dont condone the behavior. We lost 3 of our best tellers because our service manager was telling them to enter sales referals that they hadn't earned. So the service manager could hit her bonus. She was let go to but it was not right to let go of the tellers who were following orders. The only people who go far in the company hardly have any real knowledge of finance. They are sales scumbags who regurgitate whatever upper management tells them is the best policy. My manager actually said and believes "its wells fargo's mission to help all of our customers succeed finacially" but apparently we aren't helping them succeed unless we are selling them something that
A: They don't need
B: They don't understand
C: Will more than likely cause an overdraft on their account

Now I work in a very poor and uneducated community. It's sad really. Most people can't balance a checkbook let alone use online banking or identity theft protection. No, most people just want to cash their check or withdrawal their entire welfare check and spend it on god knows what. I beleive my manager is a good man, a morally just man. However, I do not believe he is capable of seeing the company as it is or he is to cowardly to do the right thing in fear of losing his job. But he is a master of sales. I've heard him pitch a product and in his presentation he had so many logical fallacies on why it would benefit the customer it was sickening. But he has a great smile and speaks so confidently and collectively that I almost begin to believe the product would benefit the customer as well.

I am a libertarian. I believe in free market and small government but when it comes to financial institutions there has to be some level of regulation, not as much as there currently is but bankers are crooks. They really have no inclination to help people PERIOD!!
I am tired of hearing that banks and other major corporations are too big to fail. Did anyone evr think that maybe they are too big to succeed? If a small government is better and less likely to fail wouldn't one assume that the same rule of thumb would apply to the private sector? I have come to the conclusion that the bigger and entity is whether it be government or private is more susceptible to failure due to mismanagement, miscomunication, and a decrease in productivity as it expands.

A person should be allowed to grow his business as large as he wants, but a bailout is not only unconstitutional but down right illogical. Lets reward incompitence and hope for the best that these finacial "wizards" don't make the same mistakes again

As an employee, we are expected to lie to increase sales.

It's a terrible workplace, and I feel bad for the customers.

In the process of a divorce, my (ex)spouse refused for 18 months to submit bank statements resulting in discovery by subpoena. We had four different banking institutions subpoened for its records and all but Wells Fargo responded.

First, they refuse to offer the information needed to properly serve a subpoena. Then they stalled and stalled by saying it was going to this department and then that department...apparently, Wells Fargo has a lengthy process when processing subpoenas. At the end of the lengthy process, Wells Fargo used the excuse that the subpoena had expired! I paid good money in legal fees for the subpoena and now, I have to have another subpoena served. I have attempted to contact the Wells Fargo legal department to find out what it will take for it to co-operate...what do you know, the voice mail system for the legal department is broken!!! Will I have to file a lawsuit against Wells Fargo? It is against the law to ignore court documents.

Wells Fargo, I had an account with substantial funds in it. I moved my money to one of the three banks that had the courtesy to respond.

I opened an account in person at local branch. The banker processed the application for me and signed me up for a credit insurance without advising. I noticed it and went in to the branch where they apologized and have now been trying to credit my acct for over a month to no success APOLOGIES only go so far Basically they robbed me and said sorry Good luck getting back!!!!! I will be moving all of my banking this week because they have cheated me, admitted it and still are unable to do anything Seems a bit misleading and desperate to make a dollar. Not the bank I want holding my money!!!!

I have had a mortgage loan with Wells Fargo for (7) years. I have had the auto withdrawal and neveer late or missaed a payment. I called them because I wanted to switch to receiving a statement and pay using that method. My new payment was going to be different and beginning January 2013 I was todl in a recorded telephone conversation that I would receive a monthly statement. I did nto receive a monthly statement until late January for FEBRUARY 2013. As a result, I was penalized for being late and it was noted as a black mark on my credit. Wells Fargo...WAIVED...the late fee...but refused to fix and remove this from my credit. They got all their money for January and Fevruary as I made a payment over the phone... This is DIRTY!

Husband made the mistake of calling WF to discuss a possible refi. Since then they have called us on our home phone number 4 or 5 times a day. But it's not just the home phone. My cell number is in their records due to a two month lull between selling our last house and buying this one several years ago. In the last couple of weeks, they have called my cell phone over 30 times and asked for my husband. The tone of the call was debt-collector attitude.....ironic, since we are and always have been current on everything. Spent an hour 3 days ago calling and trying to make them knock it off. Still more calls. Husband called again and talked to executive office 2 days in a row. Finally only one call today. We went from considering refi, to hating our mortgage company.

Wells Fargo can suck an egg! 16 months of fighting with them!!! Really? I sent you 15 copies of profit and loss statements last 3 years of tax returns signed every paper you asked for with loan numbers on every page!! 15 times.and that is not an exaggeration . I haven't heard a thing from you in the last 3 months, I have left several messages with not one response and you want me to submit everything again TODAY and if you don't have it by Thursday I will no longer be eligible for HAMP!! Then you say all of the documents I sent 3 months ago are no good after 90 days... I HATE YOU WELLS FARGO!! You told me in august 2011 That I did not qualify for a modification because I was 2 months ahead on my mortgage and I should fall behind on payments, you would work with me then...? so you got me anywhere I turned, You kew no other bank would work with me because I was under water. My home is worth less that my loan . That is why I filed Bankruptcy. You forced me in a corner ! If money is the root of all evil..Wells Fargo is the DEVIL ! So Today I sent you everthing to you,From a wells fargo advisors office. The only thing I have going for me at this point is you released me from my loan !

Not sure if all of these complaints are educated. Appraisals are independent of the lender. If you make no money, banks will give no money. Stop writing off losses and expect banks to count all you earnings if you get a fat tax refund from the government.
