I had Wachovia for 12+ years.

Issues:

1. In October of 2010 I separated from my ex-wife and before the divorce in October of 2011, we went to Wachovia together and removed her from the joint checking account and savings account. (Incidentally we also did this with Bank of America with NO ISSUES) I watched the accounts at both banks for 3 months to ensure there were no weird charges, and then I started using my Wachovia and BofA accounts again. After one month of using the Wachovia account I noticed money kept disappearing from the Way2Save account, come to find out the x-wife still had access and thought it was hers and was pulling money from it. They didn't remove her from the Way2Save account and tied it to her new personal checking account so when she would login she would see both accounts and thought it was her own Way2Save account when in fact they didn't set her one up and she had not been automatically saving. So they had me close that Way2Save and open a new one.

2. In March of 2012 after Wachovia became Wells Fargo I saw a charge with my x-wife's name on it from an online bill pay to the Energy Company come out of my checking account. This time the issue was she had paid her bill with the utility companies online bill pay site and they had my routing and checking account info on file from the last time she paid it this way rather than through her Wells Fargo Online Bill pay. So the utility company pulled the money from my account using HER NAME? Wells Fargo then had me close that checking account and open a new one to stop this from happening. HOWEVER after they moved my money to the new account, they gave me NO CHECKS and I had no Online Bill Pay for 10 days. So I couldn't pay my mortgage which was with Wells Fargo.

3. I noticed in late May Wells Fargo reversed all my mortgage payments from Jan 2012 through May 2012 and showed I owed over 12k in back mortgage payments. I called and was told that since I was in bankruptcy they couldn't talk to me. I explained the house mortgage was not part of the bankruptcy and had always been paid on time EXCEPT for March 2012 because of their screw up (see issue #2). I had to call my lawyer who sent them a letter and they finally halfway corrected the issue in early June, but they still say I owe them nearly $2k in late fees? My lawyer is still working on this one.

4. Wells Fargo also said that since I am in bankruptcy (my mortgage is NOT part of the bankruptcy I have that from the court) that I could no longer use the online bill pay to pay my home mortgage. I said that makes a lot of sense since my checking account, savings account, and mortgage are all with the Wells Fargo. They said I have to pay the mortgage with a casher’s check which is $15 at Wells Fargo, by phone and they can transfer the funds that way which is a $20 service fee, or I can pay with a check from a different bank.

5. In late June (strangely after my lawyer reamed them), my ATM card was used for some fraudulent online purchases. I noticed them the day they happened and notified Wells Fargo. For the next several hours I saw more and more fraudulent charges appear online, so I went and withdrew what was left of my money and moved it to PNC. (MUCH BETTER BANK) As of today Wells Fargo still has not resolved this issue correctly. In fact they have been charging me service fees of $15 for my checking account in August and September for some unknown reason and $3 in my Way2Save account. No clue why they have been doing this. I still have the accounts open and it is a free account through my work with NO RESTRICTIONS. I had a balance of $250+ in the account and had been still directly depositing $15 a pay period into the checking account, but HAD NOT BEEN using the account as I am now primary banking with PNC. Per my records Wells Fargo has effectively stolen over $150 from me in service fees, overdraft, and credit reversals stemming from the fraudulent charges in late June.

So as of tomorrow I am going to go close my accounts completely with Wells Fargo.

I was offered a pre-approved refi for my home in July. It is now October and we are still going back and forth with documents. The loan officers are clearly inept and not able to communicate coherently with their underwriters. I own the home - the title/deed is in my name - period. The original loan was sold to WF and I am the ONLY person who was EVER named on the loan and it has been paid on time for 10 years. My ex wife signed a document clearly indicating she has no claim on the property that was notarized and submitted on time. Now they want me to sign a letter indicating my ex spouse is being removed from the loan and title/deed. No can do since she was NEVER on either one. They are clueless. Neil H.

I cancelled my 10 year old account...Wells Fargo employees NEED customer service training. The drop that spilled the glass: the branch manager Ms. Calderon- inside the Ralphs in the Santa Ana branch is not qualified for her position. She doesn't even have a proffesional look about her. She is less than intelligent. All she did was stare at me like a deer in headlights after saying that she did not remember promissing to cash a 3rd party check for me. Its fine if the bank has a policy against it but she gave me her word & 3 days later she had the audacity of saying she didn't even remember me as a customer!

I have been in court with Wells Fargo for2 yrs they have changed lawyers 3 x,I have sent documents 54 times,Everytime they tell me it will b done after this I do it n than they come up w something else,I am disabled with 5 kids n the kids r with me,All Wells Fargo does is find ways not to help me,our Gov't bailed them out but they won't help me,now I face losing my home I've been here 12 yrs what can I do.please give me some advice

Have had many bad experiences with Wells Fargo. The first was several years ago when I noticed a $500 charge in a country I had never been in. I called Wells Fargo and they said they would credit my account and investigate the matter. Several months later I got a letter saying that since there were no other issues with my account they were going to assume that the $500 charge was legitimate and take the money out of my account. When I called them they said there was nothing they could do about that.
The next year I noticed a charge of $114. I noticed it for three months. I went into a Wells Fargo Branch and asked about it. They said they had no information on the matter. I asked them to stop the payments, they told me they could not do that. They said I had to call the company and have them stop the charge. I called the number they gave me, no one ever picked up when I called. I finally called Wells Fargo, the lady said they would stop the payments. The next month I saw another charge. I called again and was told the charge would be stopped. Next month the charge appeared again. Again I called Wells Fargo, they lady told me that the company called and said everything was fixed and that I had approved the payments. Finally the charges stopped after three six months.
A couple of years later I cosigned a loan for my daughter's car. (My bad) Wells Fargo picked up the loan. One day, while checking my account I noticed a charge for $764 and a code I never seen before. My account balance was now less than $100. When I called up Wells Fargo they told me that since the car payment was late they took the money out of the account. When I questioned this policy they told me that they were allowed to do that. If I had not checked my account I would have bounced checks at $35 a check. I received a letter informing me of the withdrawl dated 4 days after they took the money out of may accounts. One of my co-workers had a similar experience.
I changed banks. It took many hours because of all the direct payments I had tied to my account. I believe Wells Fargo counts on this, because many people do not want to go through the trouble of changing banks

I was at the dentist and couldn't make a payment. Turns out ol WF had cancelled my card. I called three times to find out that no one knew why, and couldnt offer me immediate help. Had to drive to a bank to get a new temp card that only allowed $60 a day. They couldnt reissue a new card to me I would have to wait three days. Since they were so unhelpful I decided to switch banks. I officially think Wells Fargo is the worst bank.

All of a sudden I got a letter stating Wells Fargo was setting off a fee of $30 a month against my joint account with my elderly father. They refused to tell me anything about the account, which was one my father had allegedly opened without me - which I subsequently found out was supposedly opened the day he entered hospice, never signed the account card, and no money was ever deposited in this phantom account! Still wanted $30/month for this travesty! I want to sue them. Is there a class action for this? Dad passed away shortly afterwards, he was physically unable to have opened this alleged fantasy fee-generating phony account with no money in it EVER!

Finally got refinance completed got check from title company and letter indicated we had to take it to US Bank to cash it..
Hubby & I only have Sunday off together drove clear to another town to get check cashed so we can put it back in the escrow account where it belongs. Cashier said she didn't know how to cash the check! I don't understand why they didn't just put in our escrow account! What a pain in the -BADWORD-!

Wells fargo on 19th and bethany on Phx Az has the worse and most rude bankers ever. I hate how they treat me and all the tellers (girls) seem to be all -BADWORD-s, i just kept seeing them flurting with the banker that was helping me. he kept paying attention to them insted of me the customer. Noo good customer service at all!!! didnt help me much!! i will never go to that bank again. nothing but -BADWORD-s!!

hi, i'm venting my frustrations here today to expose wells fargo for what they are.
I have had so many issues with this bank in the past year i don't even know where to start... so here goes...
i went on a payday loan website when i was in a bind for cash, i had a job at BK only working 15 hours a week if i was lucky. so i got a call from the payday company, they called them selves titan group (located in central america). in no time i was approved for a $150 loan, i was a little nervous about the transaction. after i hung up i suddenly thought... omg what did i just do, i don't have the money to even pay that back. so i called titan group back and they said don't worry about it, we'll reverse the transaction. my mind was at ease for the time being... i checked my bank statement the next day and found $150 from the SSM GROUP LLC, which is a KNOWN scam for fraud. i didn't know at the time so i didn't use my account for a few days thinking the money would just go back to where it came. so one day my car insurance was overdue :( and i just used the money to pay it. so when the loan payment was due, i called the titan group. and i wanted to pay the balance, they said i didn't have a loan from there... i call this SSM GROUP LLC they were the rudest people i have ever talked to in my life (not including the executive from wells fargo i just got off the phone with in regards to this matter). so i hung up... around the time for the holidays comes around when everyone is loving life and happy. i was getting rammed with FEES not only from this SSM GROUP but overdraft fees also. this sitution got so bad i had to cash savings bonds just to get myself by. by that time i had been charged about $275 just from this SSM GROUP alone. then i did some research telling bankers from wells fargo, these people are frauds... help me this isn't fair !!! i tried to get the charges from SSM reversed about 4 times and nothing was done in my favor. not only did SSM GROUP get EXTRA money from me, but wells fargo also charged me an arm and a leg (about $130 to be exact including overdrafts and the negative balances on my account)... i have been trying to expose this SSM GROUP LLC to wells fargo for a year now, they talk to me like i'm retarded. and now i just got off the phone with corporate and now, they are saying OH WELL BECAUSE you spent the money there's nothing we can do, i didn't spend $275!!!! ssm took that money from me and i did NOT sign anything or give them consent to take anything from my account. this executive was almost as rude as that fradulent piece of SHIT company i spoke with. what i'm saying is wells fargo can go fall in a hole with explosives in it. take my word, never apply for loans online either. wells fargo is a piece of flaming shit, they need to be exposed. they did NOTHING for me !! oh yeah and to verify this ssm group llc is a fraud is because even after they had my way with my account they contacted some phony law firm to come after me!!! it got so bad i had to send them cease and desist i even told wells fargo about that and they of course did nothing. tbh i don't ever think i'm going to use another bank again.
